I was so amazed this week to be nominated by Life as I interpret it for the One Lovely Blog Award! As a new blogger, I was both surprised and thrilled that someone would enjoy my website so much. Life as I interpret it writes a truly lovely blog with a beautiful collection of heartfelt posts. I especially love her Joy Journal, as it reminds me to look back on each day with joy and take time to recognize all the things I am grateful for. She really does interpret life as beauty and helps other to see it in the same light.
Here are the award rules, from the post by Life as I interpret it:
*Thank the person who nominated you, and give a link to his/her blog.
*List the rules.
*Display the image of the award on your post.
*List seven facts about yourself.
*Nominate (up to) 15 bloggers for this award, and notify them to let them know you have nominated them.
Seven Facts About Me:
1.) Today is my birthday! This award added such a lovely surprise to my weekend. I am truly feeling blessed.
2.) I am in love with the ages of the past and the way things used to be done. This was the inspiration behind creating my blog and business. I am frequently told that I was born in the wrong Era.
3.) This blog is actually the second branch of the business I am creating. It came as a branch off of my Etsy store where I sell handmade goods. I hope to use it in conjunction with my store to create a community that sees things differently. To take a step away from faceless factory production and a step towards the way things used to be created, with care and love, is my main goal.
4.) Up until a few years ago, I could not cook, crochet, or do most of the skills that I have built my business on. However, the passion to learn these skills was always inside me and once I decided that I would act on my passions, everything has fallen into place. It just goes to show what you can do if you believe in it.
5.) I was not on any type of social media until I started my business, less than a year ago. I know! In this day and age it is almost unheard of, but it’s true! My grandma was on social media before me. 🙂 So I’ve had a bit of catching up to do in learning how everything works.
6.) My original idea to start a home crafting business was centered on fabric products. I had to make some major adjustments as my sewing machine broke just before I got started and I have not yet been able to replace it! I decided to begin anyway and I am so glad I did. However, I still hope to launch a fabric based product line in the future.
7.) I sewed my own wedding dress! It was one of the most amazing and nerve-racking experiences of my life. I had always hoped to make my own wedding dress with my grandmother, who made my mother’s wedding dress for her. Unfortunately, she past away 3 years ago today. In memory and honor of this amazing woman, I decide to make the dress myself, despite the fact that I had never done anything like it before. With no pattern and little idea of what I was doing, I actually did it. I truly believe grandma was watching over and guiding me. This experience above all others has convinced me that you can do anything you set your mind to. It was the inspiration I needed to start following my dreams.
My One Lovely Blog Award Nominations (In no specific order):
1.) Melissa from The Nourished Peach. I am absolutely in love with all of her food photography! Every picture she posts is gorgeous. She also has a great instagram feed, blending her blog and recipes with cute bits of everyday life mixed in.
2.) Peter from Peter’s Food Adventure. To me his recipes are a wonderful combination of cozy and exotic. This blogger has a very interesting background, living in several different countries throughout his life, which inspires an amazing combination of food inspiration for his blog.
3.) Kristina from The Sourdough Movement. Her amazing variety of recipes makes me want to buy a bread maker. As someone who loves to bake bread, her recipes are naturally inspiring. But I never owned a bread maker, as I enjoy the process of mixing and kneading bread by hand. I never knew you could make jam or even mac and cheese in a bread maker. So inspiring!
4.) Alex from Markovich Photo Art. His photography is beautiful and inspiring! He also allows anyone to use his amazing photos for blogs, websites, social media, ext. How amazing that this talented artist shares all of his work to help others with their sites.

7.) What’s for Dinner Moms. I love the casual feel of her recipes, especially easy to make slow-cooker or casserole dishes. Very practical for mom’s trying to come up with dinner everywhere, with some very fun bits throughout. (Like rainbow waffles!)
8.) Sunith from Perceptions. Beautiful poetry and great stories! I especially love the story about growing up near the ration shop. This blogger has a beautiful and thoughtful perspective on life.
9.) Andrea from Cooking with a Wallflower. Not only does this site have great recipes with excellent photos, but Andrea has a series of posts on blogging as well as some helpful blogging printables. I especially love her post on food photography! Very helpful.
