Crock-pot Spaghetti Sauce
Never use store-bought sauce again
Spaghetti is such a classic and simple dinner to make. It can also be a great place to squeeze in an extra serving or two of vegetables. This delicious crock-pot spaghetti sauce is a breeze to throw together and filled with big bites of flavor! The best part is that you can prep it in the morning and let the sauce simmer while you go about your day. This recipe also makes enough sauce for several uses, just package up the extra and freeze. Having a jar of this spaghetti sauce on hand will help you create delicious homemade meals without all the extra time and effort.
Get those veggies in
Begin this simple spaghetti sauce by chopping up some fresh vegetables. This gives your sauce a boost of vitamins and flavor! I like to include Zucchini or Yellow Squash for a rich flavor and a splash of color. Sliced White Mushrooms will make this a more hearty dish. Chop onions and mince garlic to flavor the sauce. I always add Green Peppers, but mixing it up with Red or Yellow Peppers can give this sauce an added burst of color. Dice a few fresh Tomatoes and mix in enough Tomato Sauce to cover the veggies. You can keep this dish vegetarian or add either Ground Beef or Italian Sausage slices that have been fully cooked. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet while you chop your vegetables and you can throw this sauce together in minutes! Add Italian Seasoning and let this dish simply simmer in the crockpot on low heat while you go about your day (about 6 hours).
